An extensive green roof with solar panels was created on the roof of this new sports hall of the ‘Albert Schweitzer School’ in Dresden (D). The ND Solar Mounting System for Green Roofs plays the main part in this project. The mounting system ensures a quick, simple and safe installation of a green roof in combination with solar panels. Within this system, the substrate layer and the vegetation layer are used as ballast; the system does not need to be attached to the roofing system. In designing a roof with solar panels, detailed planning is essential. Technical and building regulations, such as the load-bearing capacity of the structure and the specific environmental conditions of the building, must be considered.
