Kvartet is one of the largest residential projects in Ljubljana in recent years. Four residential buildings are nestled between the trees and greenery, forming the natural ecosystem combined with modern lifestyle and urban dynamics.
Slovakian developer Corwin saw the potential of degraded, however very busy and dynamic urban area in the north part of Ljubljana, in the neighborhood of Šiška, which is already for decades one of the most urbanized areas in Ljubljana. Corwin already have extensive experience with projects that integrate green roofs and other sustainable and green elements. High-end products and materials, as well as high quality of execution always have the highest priority.
This high urbanization context was one of the reasons for sustainability and outdoor greenery to be one of the key aspects of the project. This resulted in apartments, which are energy-efficient, and buildings, which are immersed in greenery and covered with green roofs.
Each building have a two-floor underground parking garage, and by placing all the required parking space below the ground, there was an opportunity for creation of the functional outdoor space for greenery and socializing in the ground floor. One of the environmental aims of the project was as well collection and reuse of rainwater. This, together with green areas on the roof of the underground parking garage, contributed to creation of pleasant microclimate and lowered the heat island effect of this residential complex.
The company Mineral d.o.o. installed Nophadrain’s strong ND 600sv Drainage System below the green and paved areas above the underground parking garage, and even stronger ND 620hdsv Drainage System below paved areas for intervention vehicles access. This was the key for safe and sustainable installation of trafficable and vegetated areas on the inverted roof structure of underground parking garage.
