Solar | bio-solar roof
Solar panels are becoming increasingly attractive due to the current energy transition, the desire to contribute to sustainable energy production and increasing energy costs. Many existing roofs, flat roofs and pitched roofs, are ideally suited for generating energy. Flat roofs are particularly suitable because both planning and installation are usually less dependent on the orientation and roof slope. Solar panels and vegetation are a great combination on the roof. Together they are known as bio-solar roofs. The Nophadrain Solar Green Roof System is designed to meet the requirements of green roofs and to additionally install solar panels safely on it.
The core of the Nophadrain Bio-Solar System is the ND Solar Mounting System for Green Roofs. The mounting system ensures a quick, simple and safe installation of a green roof in combination with solar panels. In this system, the substrate layer and the vegetation layer are used as ballast; the system does not need to be attached to the waterproofing system. Every design of a roof with solar panels starts with detailed planning, taking into account technical and building regulations. It is important to know all the conditions of the building, such as the load-bearing capacity of the structure and the environmental conditions.

In addition, it is important to know detailed information about the roof construction, such as all details regarding the slope, insulation and waterproofing membrane. In an existing building, it must also be checked whether the existing waterproofing membrane and insulation are suitable as a base layer for the installation of solar panels. If these do not meet current official requirements, then renovation and replacement will need to be considered.
During installation it is important to ensure that the mounting system is installed in accordance with the mounting and module plan. It is particularly important to ensure that the waterproofing membrane is not damaged. Both the installation of the modules and the cabling on the direct current (DC) side must be installed in accordance with the mounting and module plan and secured in accordance with the general technical rules.
