Long product description

A complete package that consists of the delivery and application of the complete sedum vegetation by means of hydroseeding. The complete package includes the rental of the machine, the labour, and all necessary materials. You won’t have to worry about a thing.

What is hydroseeding?
Hydroseeding is the best way to apply sedum shoots on an extensive green roof system. After the cuttings are manually spread, they are covered with a layer of organic material called mulch. After sowing sedum, the sedum cuttings/sprouts are covered with a layer of organic material, the so-called mulch layer. This layer, which consists of a green-colored mixture of wood or cellulose pulp, a special adhesive with fertilizer and water, is sprayed over the sedum cuttings using a hydroseeder.

Quality, wide choice and preference
To guarantee the quality of the vegetation, we use sedum cuttings from our own nursery when hydroseeding. The standard mixture of cuttings consists of at least seven different types of sedum. This can of course be adjusted to your wishes. The cuttings can also be combined with a seed mixture of wild flowers, herbs and ornamental grasses. Hydroseeding can be used for extensive roof vegetation, but it is also ideal for the construction of slopes, verges, noise barriers, ground cover, water retention basins and ditch banks. Grass seeds are often used instead of sedum cuttings for these applications. Seeds are mixed directly with the mulch layer and sprayed onto the slope or verge in one go.

What are the advantages of hydroseeding?

  • Protection of sedum against wind erosion; the mulch layer ensures that the substrate and the Sedum cuttings cannot blow away. This way, the cuttings and substrate remain evenly distributed over the roof.
  • Preventing rapid dehydration of sedum; the water is retained in the mulch layer and in the substrate, so that the sedum cuttings root faster and the end result is achieved faster.
  • Faster establishment of sedum; Because the sedum cuttings are covered with a mulch layer during hydraulic sowing, there is better contact with the substrate, which means that the vegetation takes root more quickly.
  • Protection of Sedum against birds; because the mulch layer is on the cuttings, the birds cannot take the cuttings.
  • Less maintenance of the Sedum in the initial phase; Applying sedum cuttings with hydroseeding provides a faster and more even result than applying sedum cuttings without hydraulic sowing. The mulch layer and the faster establishment of the Sedum mean that cuttings need to be added and weeds removed less often.
  • Easy to combine with other seeds, such as wildflowers;
  • Quick and economical to install with a fantastic end result; In one working day, two men can cover a roof area of more than 3,000 m² with sedum cuttings.
  • Economical: regular sowing of Sedum may seem cheaper than hydroseeding, but the grow of sedum currings is subject to weather influences.
