Extensive green roofs

The ideal system for installing a maintenance-friendly extensive green roof with sedum, herbs and grasses. Suitable for flat and (steep) pitched roofs. We supply complete extensive green roof systems, including the vegetation. We grow the vegetation ourselves at our sedum nursery and it is of excellent quality. There is a suitable extensive green roof system for almost every roof.

Substrate roof – Extensive

The growing-medum layer of this standard composition consists only of substrate. The extensive substrate is tailored to the needs of the sedum vegetation. The substrate height is determined by the chosen type of vegetation: sedum blankets, plug plants or cuttings (see table below).

Specific applications

A strong core with integrated water buffer

The core of this extensive green roof is formed by the ND 4+1h Drainage System on a roll. This multifunctional CE-marked drainage system with high compressive strength protects vegetation against water build-up and at the same time stores water in the built-in water reservoir (of 4.3 l/m²) for dry periods. In addition, the ND 4+1h Drainage System protects the waterproofing membrane against the build-up of water pressure and mechanical loads both during and after construction.

The ND 4+1h Drainage System is easy and quick to install because the filter geotextile, drainage core with water buffering and the protective geotextile are glued together. The drainage system is supplied on a roll and is therefore easy to handle and quick to unroll.

If the waterproofing membrane is not root-resistant, we recommend adding the ND WSB-50 Root Barrier.
