The ND KV-200 Capillary Geotextile has been specifically developed for use in retention roof systems. It functions as a capillary-active distribution and filtration layer, enabling stored rainwater from the water retention elements to be transferred to the overlying substrate layer in accordance with the water requirements of the vegetation. In combination with the ND KS Capillary Strips, the ND KV-200 Capillary Geotextile ensures uniform horizontal water distribution throughout the substrate.
Thanks to its strong capillary properties, the geotextile supports a continuous water supply to the vegetation, even during dry periods. Improved substrate moisture promotes plant growth, enhances evapotranspiration performance, and contributes to an optimized water balance. The ND KV-200 Capillary Geotextile therefore makes an important contribution to the efficiency, functionality, and sustainability of modern vegetated retention roofs.

The ND KV-200 Capillary Geotextile is used in vegetated retention roofs in combination with the optional ND KS Capillary Strips. It is installed above the water retention elements and forms the capillary-active transport and distribution layer. Water supplied via the ND KS Capillary Strips is distributed horizontally by the geotextile beneath the substrate layer. This creates a uniform, demand-driven water distribution throughout the roof build-up.
Accessories
For optimum performance within the retention roof system, the ND KV-200 Capillary Geotextile is used in combination with the ND KS Capillary Strips and a flow control system. In particular, in retention roofs with a predefined water retention level, stored water can be transferred from the water retention elements to the vegetation-supporting substrate layer.
The ND KS Capillary Strips provide the capillary connection to the water retention elements and are functionally matched to the ND KV-200 Capillary Geotextile.
