Extensive | pitched roof multilayer
The ideal system for installing a maintenance-friendly extensive green roof with sedum blankets. Suitable for extensive vegetation on pitched roofs with a slope of 15-25° that have a multi-layer composition.
Because no substrate is used with this system, only vegetation blankets can be used. Cuttings and plug plants are not possible (see table below).

Pitched roof with substrate replacing panels
With the exception of the ‘single-layer pitched roof system‘, Nophadrain systems are multi-layered. In a multi-layer structure, the vegetation-bearing layer is separated from the drainage layer by a separate filter layer. In this structure, the growing-medium layer consists of the ND SM-50 Substrate Panels. This substrate replacement is lightweight, but can store approximately 30 l /m² water. The ND WSF-24 Water Resistant Strip Foil ensures that moisture is retained better in the ND SM-50 Substrate Panels in a pitched position.
The core of this extensive green roof is formed by the ND 100 Drainage System on a roll This multifunctional CE-marked drainage system protects vegetation against water build-up. The ND 100 Drainage System protects the waterproofing membrane against the build-up of water pressure and mechanical loads both during and after construction. Unlike drainage systems from the ND +1 series for green roofs, this drainage system does not have an inverted dimple with a water buffer.
The ND 100 Drainage System is easy and quick to install because the filter geotextile and drainage core are glued together. The drainage system is supplied on a roll and is therefore easy to handle and quick to unroll.
With this system we recommend using a root-resistant waterproofing membrane to limit the risk of sliding. More information regarding erosion protection can be found in the FLL guidelines.
